1. Location and brief history

Borobudur temple located in Magelang, Central Java, Indonesia. To be more precise, it is located approximately 40 km northwest of Yogyakarta and 86 km west of Surakarta. Besides, Borobudur also has six square and three circulars. The central dome comes as the top of it.

3. The reliefs on the wall

One important thing about Borobudur also lies in the unique reliefs it has along the wall. In total, there are 2,672 reliefs panel. Each of them tells a great story of the Buddha himself. It wrapped the long journey of his birth, enlightenment as well as the death. The reliefs are also become more enchanting as there are many Buddha statues along the wall. In total, there are 504 statues. For the central dome, it is specially surrounded by 72 Buddha statues, each of them seated inside a pricked stupa.
